Toughie, but I'm going with.....

Deciding on this comp is the hardest yet.  Some of the concepts are so brilliant, and some of the art is so brilliant, and deciding what weight to give each factor is almost impossible...  I'll have to think some more.

1. Allied 72 - Fantastic concept, brilliantly sustained in a McMahon gel.  Love the mapped designs of the Warriors.
2. James Newell - What if '70s Barry Windsor Smith had done covers for Misty?  Incredible.
3. SKD - would have been No. 1 if Ukko had had a VCs helmet... just think how well his ears would go with those antennae!

HM-1: Fungus - So, so good, but maybe the layout dropped it out of the Top 3.
HM-2: ZenArcade - a lovely concept, and colourfully rendered.
HM-3: Ant O'Donnell - extraordinary art stylings, but I just wasn't feeling the concept enough.

To be honest, I could have voted for everyone:  I love Skullmo's Johnny Kreelman, Johnnstress' Durham Red, Albion's Skimmaster, Alastair's Joe Lardd,  Archie's atmospheric CJ Krysler, Leigh and RaggedMan's strips, Toothsoup's debut, Pete's gag, Supersurfer's line-up, hell I'm just listing them all now....  Because. 

Best comp in a while.
